Offensive sales tactics, not acceptable!

Again today?
Is it really AgencyHandy that sends out theese mails?
(See below: “3-Day Offer: Upgrade Your Agency Handy LTD Plan”)

Just the other day I sent you an email to support, complaining that AgencyHandy approach my team-workers directly without my consent or info!?

Now this is second email you send to my team (not to me/owner/admin)
(And still no response to my mail)

I am (one day hopefully) reliying to run my business, having the highest tier LTD of AgencyHandy.

In the email to my team you invite: “existing users to upgrade their Lifetime Deal plans”!
But you send the mails to my staff/team, not to me, who are the existing user?
And you try to sell a non-existing upgrade!
There is absolutely NO UPSALE, since I am already on the highest level for lifetime.

Are you trying to sell my teammembers a deal to open their own company?
(You are explicit sending this to teammembers, but not administrator/owner/me)

Are you using my companys private and internal information for the sole purpose of selling your software?

This might actually be an example of GDPR rules being broke!
Qustion:
How did you get access to the info about the (virtual) “Mads M. Leder” with the emailadress “XXXXX@safi.dk”? You are directly adressing ‘him’ by name and email!
Answer:
Well, that info only exist ONE place in the world. On my account!
And that (virtual) person have NEVER agreed to be contacted directly by you, not from AgencyHandy or “handyserviceshub.com” or anybody else!
You can ONLY have achieved the info by accessing my (Safi.dk) account/portal and scraped all my user/team/client/admin information!

This is illegal guys! You are stealing my data!

Are you also planning to soon scrabe my client/customers email, and introduce them to a special offer from you?

You are even sending your mail from a spooky domain like handyserviceshub.com? What is that? (No website on the url)

This is really a bad decision for promoting your product, and totally unacceptable!

Please try and explain your mindset behind this!

I have, some month back, had a mail dialogue about your promotion by placing an promotional link directly in the main-menu of the portal!
After some weeks you realized that it was TO offensive and took it away. Thanks.

But you are also TO offensive here, when you scrabe my data and reach out directly to my ‘staff’, only to try to tell the software they already use (due to my license)

Looking forward to your response,
 Mads Bischoff

Emne: Spam? - 3-Day Offer: Upgrade Your Agency Handy LTD Plan

Hi Mads L. Eder,

We’re opening a short 3 day window for existing users to upgrade their Lifetime Deal plans.

It’s a one time payment with no recurring fees, giving you more workspaces, higher limits, and access to advanced features.

You can check all the upgrade options here: https://www.agencyhandy.com/offers/

If you’re not sure which tier fits best, just reply to this email and I’ll help you figure it out.

Best regards,

Agency Handy Support Team

Hey Mads, have you set up your domain email or smtp option? I think that ensures clients only receive emails from your domain, but maybe Agency Handy can confirm, maybe its an error your clients received that promo email.

Hi Jay,
Thanks for your input!

I have setup the email config in the AH portal.
And it works fine

My concern here is that AH (marketing dep.) are scraping my teammembers info from my AH account! And they use it to email them sales offers.
This is a fact. It might be illegal according to GDPR (and my ethichs)
Their email is sent from an alternative domain: handyserviceshub.com

When they do this, I get afraid that they will also scrape my clients info for marketing purposes one day. I dont say that they will or that they are doing it.
But when they can scrape my teammembers info, they can scrabe all my agencys info.

I am looking forward to hear from our dear people at AH.

Again today I received the same email from AH!!

So: They continue an illegal practice, and they don’t even bother to comment on this post?

Guys, is this for real? Is AH running a legit business? Or?

Hi Mads,
Sorry for the late reply. Let me explain what actually happened. Long story short, some days ago, we ran a promotional campaign to give our existing clients the chance to upgrade their existing LTDs, as most of our clients wanted an option to upgrade their current plan. We only sent the emails to the Super Admins. We have used an email automation for that. This may have caused the confusion. We should have been more careful about it. I take all the responsibility, and I am sorry for that. I have responded to your email and explained everything there. Hope it helps.

Just to confirm are your clients still getting emails from AH?

Hi Jay, thanks for your concern.

The mails I received was promotional campaign mails for an explicit offer.
So I have (not yet) received any more, than the 2 mails mentioned.

Also I got a long mail with response from Hasib, that I reponded to 2 weeks ago.
I dont want to repeat everything again, but the email did NOT at all convince me that AH sees this a problem. So I am afraid that this was not only ‘one time’, and I am now just waiting for next time they find it neccesary, and they will do the exact sama thing again.

AH shall NEVER send emails directly to my staff/Super-admins.
My staff never agreed to anything from AgencyHandy!

I have still not heard anymore from Hasib since 2 weeks….

Thanks for the update Mads! Agreed your contacts clients or staff shouldnt be receiving any emails from AH promotion or any other communication as those contacts should be private to you and your business and not shared. Hopefully no future emails get sent to our contacts, and this issue is resolved ensuring our contacts are protected of their privacy.

Hi Jay, it was not intentional and no data breached or privacy had been broken. Actually we had all of the emails who were our clients especially the Super Admins (using our portal), so while running the promotional emails, one of Mads employees (who was a superadmin) was stored in Intercom (our support platform) and they were first on Tier 3 and then upgraded to Tier 5, so somehow the data did not sync and since it is almost impossible to collect all the emails using of tiers manually, we had taken it from Intercom (where the data did not sync) properly and then we took all the emails and run a campaign from an email marketing tool. So it was an honest mistake and we did not break any law/privacy.

Hi Jay and Mehzabeen,
You are right that it seems like it was NOT intensional behavoiour fra AH. But nevertheless you made mistakes and errors, as Hasib fully agree to in his response to me.
During the conversation with Hasib, I have now been convinced that you have corrected the found the relevant errors, and have made adjustments to your setup, so this will not happen again.
I am happy that you are listening, and that you are not to proud to say “We made a mistake/error”, and then fix it.
I have regained my confident to the team, and to the fact that AH one day will mature so much that I can start using it in real life…

Am I being restricted to post in the forum? For the very first time, today I am getting message that “Your post will need to be approved before being published!”
This is new to me. Is it something affecting everybody, or?

We have turned on admin approval, you are not restricted and it goes for everyone.
